Refund Policy
At VirtualMed Iowa, we are committed to providing high-quality, personalized medical care. This refund policy outlines how payments, cancellations, and refunds are handled for appointments and services.
Appointment Fees
Payment is collected at the time of service or via online self check-in. This includes copays, coinsurance, deductibles, and any self-pay service fees.
We do not issue refunds for completed medical services, as payment reflects the provider’s time, expertise, and clinical evaluation.
Insurance Billing
If insurance is billed and later adjusts or denies a claim, you may receive a bill for the remaining balance. If insurance overpays or corrects a claim after payment, any resulting credit will be applied to your account or refunded upon request.
Cancellations & No-Show Policy
To respect our providers’ time and allow others to schedule:

Appointments must be canceled or rescheduled at least 24 hours in advance.

Missed appointments or late cancellations may be subject to a no-show fee, which is not refundable.
Refunds for Prepaid Services
If a patient prepays for a service or visit and then does not receive that service:

A refund will be issued to the original payment method.

If labs, testing, or supplies were ordered on your behalf, related costs may be deducted.
Medical Products, Prescriptions & Supplements
We do not issue refunds for:

Prescription medications

Supplements

Medical supplies

Services already rendered or consultations already completed
These items are individualized and cannot be returned.
Rescheduled Appointments
If you need to reschedule, any payment or copay made will be applied to your new appointment—no fees applied as long as it is rescheduled within the cancellation window.
